Ministry Description
When Bill trusted Christ during his freshman year at Michigan Technological University, God filled him so full of His love that he couldnt help but share it with everyone he met. Upon graduation, Bill joined Campus Crusade for Christ so that he could continue winning college students to Christ. After 11 years in field ministry, God led Bill into writing and sent him to Latin America as a missionary journalist.
Dawn attended a small Christian college in Indiana. While there, she learned about the ministry of the Holy Spirit from a Campus Crusade staff member and learned how to share her faith. She began organizing students to go witnessing in the community. After school, Dawn served with Campus Crusade in Los Angeles inner city. She learned Spanish and developed an outreach to people from Central America. In time, God brought us together in marriage and gave us three childrenHeidi, Billy and Toby. Now, as writers with Campus Crusade of Europe, we continue to help people come to know Christ. Together we give vision, inspiration and encouragement to Christians around the world as we write about the mighty things God is doing. Friday, August 29 2008 @ 2:41 pm
28 August - Santiago at last!
Well, here we are - the place where tens of thousands of pilgrims have walked to over the years. The city centre is very old, full of tiny, winding streets. It was quite a challenge to find a parking spot. We are staying at a monastery right next to the cathedral - our Spanish staff friends must have all kinds of connections. But this place seems to be more of a low end hotel than a monastery. The rooms are simple, though, with a very antiquated showe...

27 August - 6:30 pm
Another day of serving, while Dawn walked. We set up at a nice campground on the "Mount of Joy" overlooking Santiago. I suspect it is called Mount of Joy because everybody is so joyful at being only 4 km from the goal! There is a big campground here, with a pool, and lots of places to stay.
Toby, it turns out, is quite the social person. Every time we stop, he walks through the crowd of teenagers trying to pick up a game of Uno. Often I see him with 5 or 6 teens fr...

27 August - 6:30 am.
Not much to do in the morning here until everybody gets up and the lights go on, so I'm sitting in the car working on this blog. Pilgrims are already beginning to walk by, even this early. They say it is better to get an early start, as the afternoons are so hot.
Last night there were lots of other people staying at the gym. Francis talked to two guys from Slovakia and two from Poland, and one of the Slovaks was very interested in the Lord. He said that one of the re...

26 August, Tuesday
Today began with a bang - Heidi fainted! She hit her head on the floor, so we took her to a doctor just to be safe. But she's ok, and went back to walking after lunch.
I walked about 18 km, just until lunch. After the youth had lunch, Natalie, the Swiss woman, invited the support team out to a restaurant to celebrate her birthday.
My morning walk was the best yet, despite the heat (it got up to 33 C. this afternoon - not sure what that is in Fahrenheit). I car...
