Ministry Description

My Story!

I have seen God work in amazing ways as I look through my life.  I started my life in the small town of Denver, NC and while I grew up in church I didnt fully understand what a personal relationship with Christ truly was.

As I entered college at North Carolina State University, I wanted to prove my worth through my studies and being popular.  My freshman year I succeeded in my studies and made many new friends, yet there was still an emptiness present in me.

During my freshman year I filled out a spiritual interest survey to win a chance at free books. Soon, a Campus Crusade for Christ staff member was knocking at my door.  She shared with me what it meant to know Christ personally, that I could be 100% sure I was going to heaven since I had already accepted Christ into my life as my Lord and Savior.

As I got involved with Campus Crusade for Christ, I started to see that I was worth more than what I did or how popular I was.  God truly loved me as His child and His love is all that matters!  Since my freshmen year, I have had many experiences with Campus Crusade for Christ that have changed my life forever.

I have served with Campus Crusade for Christ for the last three years at the University of Kentucky.  The most valuable thing that I have learned during my experience with this ministry is that life here on earth is short in comparison to eternity.  This life is much less about me than it is about God and His glory.  In the words of John Piper, "I am most satisfied when He is most glorified."

One of the most encouraging parts of my summer was meeting the students already involved in Kompass and hearing their stories. This year, they have seen 45 students accept Christ and several of them ministered with us this summer. Two girls that especially encouraged me were Olya and Marina. They participated in our summer project and then left to participate in a summer project of all Russian students on the Black Sea. Their stories are below. I hope that their hea...

Here are some updates from the staff that participated in the leadership project. Thanks so much for making it possible to serve them on this trip. Leadership project is definitely the most helpful and encouraging project I've ever been. I learned so much about the leader's characteristics, how leadership looks and what it means to be a good biblical leader. Personal times with my mentor were the highlight for me because of two reasons. Stacy knows me from the time she spent in Ko...

Well, I am sorry you havent heard from me. Now that I am back in America and jet lag free I thought I would let you know what has been happening while overseas. My intention was to write to you while in Russia but what I soon discovered was that I only got access to email which made me pay for data transfered. THat made it too expensive to update you through the summer so I will spend some time updating you on my return. I have added alot of pictures so far and will add m...

We have had an incredibly busy Spring Semester so far. Right now, I am holding in my hands the names of 100s of students who said that they would like to talk more about a relationship with Christ. Please pray that I would be diligent in calling them and that they would be available to meet. One of the most successful outreaches was when we gave out free t shirts to our everywildcat.com website. So far, five people have made decisions fofr Christ on the website and two girls hav...
