Ministry Description

Before joining Full Time Christian ministry, Daisy worked at Kenya Beach Hotel, as a departmental manager responsible for Computer Operations and Reservations.

Steve worked for Toplis and Harding as a Marine Surveyor and (partially) a loss adjuster.

Steve was born again on 23 June 1991 and Daisy on 1 July 1991, however, in different settings. Shortly after that, we came into contact and discovered our common desire to grow in Christ and be His witnesses (especially in the market place).

In 1992, we took a short course (offered by LIFE Ministry) in Evangelism and Discipleship. This equipped us for ministry to fellow young professionals in Mombasa. Gradually, we became more involved with ministry through LIFE Ministry, in the capacity of Associate staff. We helped to equip fellow believers with similar skills for evangelism and discipleship. We also helped to plant some churches (especially in the remote districts of Coast Province in Kenya)

As a result of the war in Somalia, many Somalis fled to Northern Kenya. Mid 1992, we participated in an International, Cross-cultural outreach mission to the Somalis in Garissa. It was during this mission project that we begun sensing God leading us into full time Christian ministry.

After much time of prayer and Godly counsel, we joined LIFE Ministry Kenya, as Full Time missionaries (staff), in 1994. Shortly after that, we proceeded for (LIFE Ministry) Great Commission Training in Kampala, Uganda, for 9 months.

When we returned, mid 1995, we joined the team in Mombasa and worked among professionals. We helped to begin discipleship groups and Groups of Accountability and Prayer (GAPs).

In 1999, we relocated to Nairobi and helped to lead the staff team  working with professionals.

In June 2003, we relocated to Harare, Zimbabwe. We are currently on furlough, preparing to relocate to South Africa.

We got married on 25 November 1995 at Mombasa Pentecostal Church, Mombasa-Kenya.

Our first son, Sande, was born in Mombasa on 30/11/1998. His name means Thank You.

Our second born, Sangaara, was born on 03/01/2002. His name means Rejoice.

Sande loves music, mainly to sing and to play musical instruments. He also loves to swim and play tennis.

Sangaara loves to dance and to eat!!!

Daisy and I feel so privileged to raise up these two boys!

Pray that we would raise them up in the ways of the Lord (Proverbs 22:6).

Sande was in Grade 2 at Gateway Primary School in Harare, Zimbabwe until March 2005 when we returned to Kenya. He is temporarily in grade 2 in an ACE school (Faith Ventures Christain Academy), until when we relocate to South Africa around September 2005. We hope he will continue with the same education system.

Sangaara is still at home. We hope he will join a play group in South Africa.
