Ministry Description
Bob & Karen Rhoads are the only Deaf staff with Campus Crusade for Christ for 13 years. Recently, we transitioned to launch a new ministry called "Deaf Leadership Ministries" with the support of Bethany Community Church of Laurel, Maryland.
By the Grace of God, we were assigned to minister to Deaf students at Gallaudet University and guide them to become Christ-centered Laborers. We want to lead the students to know their Savior in a personal way and to walk daily with Him. Then we train them to reach out to their fellow students and to disciple them in Christ Jesus as leaders for tomorrow world. It is our prayers that those Deaf students will join us as volunteers or as staff and help reach more deaf students across the USA and one day, around the world. We are enjoying our home life right here in the Burtonsville area in a house with a big backyard and lots of trees. This summer is the first time we are able to enjoy many different things which prevent us to enjoy in the last few years. We cannot thank GOD enough for this homestead.

Please take note the new changes with the Rhoads' campus ministry to the Deaf communities in the very Heart of our Nation.
New and recent August/September 2007 prayer letter have been posted. It contains important information for all our supporters to make this transition as smooth as possible.

Last April 2007, Campus Crusade for Christ informed Bob & Karen that it is time for us to make the transition from staff to another mission organization or our home church to better suit our Deaf needs in the ministry.
In our 13th year on staff, Bob and Karen are still the only Deaf staff to run the first Deaf campus ministry at Gallaudet, the world's only Deaf university.
Campus Crusade felt inadequate to meet our physical, spiritual and cultural needs of Deaf people like us. T...
