About US
I am a blessed and highly favored man who is married to the most amazing woman God has created. She and I are blessed with a blended family that includes our two daughters and our son along with four dogs. Our children are the sparkle in our eyes and we grow prouder of them each day.
We began our walk back into our loving Fathers grace in March of 2007 when, two weeks before our wedding, we decided that if we were going to have a blessed and time enduring marriage we would need to put the Lord smack in the middle of it. Within those short two weeks we found a church home and on March 23, 2007 we were married at West Texas Church at the Barn with our three beautiful children standing at our sides. The ceremony was amazing and the children stood hand in hand with us as we took our vows to build our family together in God. You might look at our relationship as a family as one that is "superglued" together with God's strength. God's word provides a strong warning: "What God has joined together, let man not separate." Farrah and I began our walk into the ministry shortly after getting married. It is a calling I have felt all my life. It is amazing how the devil will work to keep you away from what God is calling you to do. I believe that God's hand is present in my life and has led me to my beautiful and wonderful wife so that I have the support and love and sometimes guidance to follow His will. With so many mistakes in my past and so many wrong turns, God has led me away from those who fought so hard to keep me down and has put together our family that is strong enough to withstand anything. Our ministry is growing and has led us into prision ministry here in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. We are blessed each week to visit the men and women incarcerated here and learn their stories and their needs. There are real human beings behind the "News at Nine" stories we all see on the news. Although they have committed crimes, we know that God and his amazing grace through the sacrifice of His Son Jesus, gives these men and women the ability to have a relationship with Him and change their lives. We are blessed and honored to be a part of that. We attend PowerHouse Fellowship on 19th Street and MLK, here in Lubbock. Farrah has been the children's minister there since October 2008 and I am preaching when needed. I also help out at surrounding churches that do not have a full time pastor and although God has not called Farrah and I to a church as full time pastors, we know that everything will happen according to His will and in His time. We are truly blessed with the opportunities that He has given us so far. Our testimony covers our entire lives up to now. We know that by God's grace and only His grace have we found our way back to Him and give him praise and glory for all that we have been blessed with. We would love the opportunity to share our testimonies with you and your church family. Farrah has been blessed with the gift of song and uses it to praise and worship God whenever given the chance. Through heartbreak, financial struggles, broken families, and devestation, God has brought us together to use our lives to show and teach others about his infinite grace and mercy and the many blessings He has for us all if we give our lives to Him. If you are interested in hearing our testimonies at your church please contact us. Blessings and Love, Steven & Farrah Shipley http://www.myspace.com/pastorshipley |
