Know Biship Philip Timothy
I am Philip Timothy calleb by God to be the Pioneer missionay for the Saura Tribal group people in the boarder Orissa and Andhra Pradesh, India. I began my work in 1994 as pioneer missionary. It was risking life to go to reach them because they live in the very interior hill regions. It used to take 5 to 6 hours to reach villages to make known Jesus to them. When they do not accept a foregner it was hard to introduce a unknown God to them. They are animists and worship evil spirits with animal sacrifices. In evry day life the sacrifice is very common among them. Their lifestyly bound by the sacrifices of animals to appease the spirits. Lord provided us the grace to make Jesus known to them as a sacrifice of God to release them from the eternal condemnation. Praise God. Thousands of people came to the Lord and the church planting was like a fire lit in the forest and villages by villages came to the Lord and churches were planted. I trained pastors among them to reach their own tribe with the gospel of jesus Christ.
By now there are 85 churches among Saura people group. Lord has opend doors to start work among some more unreached people groups with the resource native missionaries from saura Tribe. As on today we have work among 6 unreached people groups in the boarders of Orissa and Andhra Pradesh of India. and among all the groups including we have 130 churches in different people groups. In the process of reaching these people our family went through touch health situation. Many a times I and along with my family also fell sick with malaria, every year five times at least fell with malaria. In 1996 i was severly sick with Jaundice, and i was at the door of death but miraculously Lord raised me form the death bed. in 2002 my elder daughter and my younger sister who was living with us died with malaria in twenty days gap. we now believe they are in the safest place. I started my mission organization as UPHOLD in 2003 with a committed men who are being a great support to my work. I was married to Lydia in 1998 and blessed with 4 daughters, the first born daughter is with the Lord and remaining three are with us |
