Please remember to lift up our friends, family, and the people of Texas affected by Hurricane Ike in your prayers.
From our home here in Kenya, our eyes were glued to CNN's storm coverage on Saturday morning (from 1:00 AM in Texas; we are 8 hours ahead of Central time). So, we started praying just before the storm made landfall in Galveston, and as it made its way north through Houston and up through Texas. Ike was one colossal storm, almost as big as the whole state of Texas.

The LORD sure worked in an amazing way to get us back here in time for the new academic year at NIST. He is awesome!
We have settled back in to our home and resumed our ministry at NIST. Things are in full swing now, and we are a bit behind on our correspondence. However, we did post our September prayer letter today (please click on the link below):

Wow, what a whirlwind! On Tuesday afternoon (July 29), we will be boarding the plane to return to Kenya (arriving Wednesday evening). The new academic year at NIST begins on August 12 (student orientation) with classes one week later, and we are both scheduled to teach.
We can't believe the time here in the States has gone so fast. We are so thankful for those of you we were able to see, but sad that we couldn't see everyone and that our time here was so short. We will truly miss you and our fa...

Wow, so much has happened since our last blog entry. Thank you so much for your prayers! Things are much more peaceful in Kenya as the leaders signed an agreement. Gary wrapped up teaching his course, "Ministry with Children," and it was such a blessing. God really used him to touch the lives of his students this semester. They have a heart for the kids in Africa - praise the Lord!We finished getting ready for furlough, and now we are safely in Texas. God gave us travel mercies. Thank ...
