Johnnie & Virginia Thompson

We have been been involved with prison ministry for over 25 years.  We joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ in 2001. Our ministry is to prisoners, their families and at-risk youth. We work in partnership with other ministries to take the Gospel to the prisons and youth development centers. Our goal is to insure that everyone who accepts Christ has an opportunity to be discipled while in prison and when they are released to have someone to mentor them and help them to get established in a local church. We also reach out to the families of these new Christians whenever possible.

By working with prisoners, their families and at-risk youth and by helping them to become productive citizens, we can greatly reduce crime. (80% of all crime is committed by ex-offenders.) This will make our communities safer and better places to live. We can also make an eternal difference in the lives of those affected by crime.

In addition to our in prison ministry we are currently ministering three times a week at Broken Shackle Ranch near Davisboro, Ga. Broken Shackle Ranch is a Christian youth home that specializes in helping young men ages 16-18 by teaching them responsibility, discipline, work ethic, and moral values.
