About Flip and Connie Amon

Flip grew up in Connecticut, then went south to enroll at Florida State University where he came to Christ during his senior year. Having graduated in 1970 in Geography and International Affairs, the following summer he hitchhiked from Connecticut to California to join the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ.

After first serving at MIT in Boston, he directed Crusades work at Colorado State University where he met Connie, his future bride.  Connie was born and raised in Colorado and grew up in a solid Christian family, coming to Christ at an early age. After attending Mesa Junior College in Grand Junction, she came to CSU and graduated in Occupational Therapy.

They married in 1976 and immediately began preparations to minister overseas. For the next twenty years they worked in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union.  They helped open the CCC work in Yugoslavia, helped get Crusade materials translated into Russian, and led teams of U.S. college students into the Soviet Union.  They moved to Moscow, Russia then to Kiev, Ukraine to pioneer the CCC ministry and to coordinate the in-country set up teams for the International School Project convocations. It was the most fun weve had during all our years on staff, says Flip.  No one organization or person could take the credit for what God did in and through the lives of the 10,000 teachers exposed to the gospel.

Confident that a Ukrainian couple would continue follow-up of the teachers, they were led to Orlando, Florida where Flip received a Master of Divinity at The Orlando Institute. In 2000, they joined The JESUS Film Project to introduce and distribute The Story of Jesus for Children to childrens ministries throughout the U.S. and world.  Summer 2002, Flip and Connie and their children, Jessica and Caleb, moved to San Clemente, CA where Flip leads his department.

"The Story of Jesus for Children" is a video/DVD which will give every child, both churched and unchurched, a chance to see and hear the gospel of Jesus in a way he/she can understand, in every possible language worldwide. It provides a solution to the challenge of teaching children the truth about God and His Son Jesus. This video uses 40 minutes of the original "JESUS" film and integrates into the drama 22 minutes of new footage with children who might have lived in A.D.30. The video allows children to hear and see the whole story at once, answering questions in clear and concrete terms, and providing fast action.
